The Kings Creed Chardonnay
Region
The Adelaide Hills is located in the Mount Lofty Ranges, east of Adelaide. One of the largest geographical wine regions in Australia, its diversity in altitude, climate, and soil helps produce distinctive cool-climate wines. Vintage 2017 was a later vintage in the Adelaide Hills compared to recent years, due to cool and wet conditions, with harvest commencing in late March. Although yields were low, quality was high, producing wines with beautiful colour and flavour.
Wine
The grapes were picked early, just after the green, herbaceous characters had disappeared. The fruit was whole-bunch pressed, the juice was minimally settled, wild yeast was used, and fermentation took place in old French oak barrels only. After fermentation, the wine was left on lees for six months. This Adelaide Hills Chardonnay is medium-weight in structure, elegant, textured, and well balanced. Fruit purity shines through, making this a wine for those who enjoy drinking in style.
