This one started as an idea for Record Store Day. A Black IPA seemed appropriate, but the only problem was that Little Bang didn’t like them very much. Something about the roasted malt bite and the big piney hops didn’t quite sit right.
So the mission was clear: come up with a Black IPA recipe they’d actually want to drink. They rounded out the roast and focused more on richer, fruitier hops rather than pine cones. The end result is a smoother black hop bomb than most, with a hint of Christmas cake character—and it’s become a regular favourite. Go figure.
